Interview: AJ Locascio- The Voice of Marty McFly!
Telltale’s new Back to the Future game is making its way to the PC, Mac and Playstation Network next month, and of course, we have an interview with AJ Locascio, the new voice of Marty Mcfly, and I tell you, his impression is wicked, um, I mean, heavy.
MW: So, tell us a little bit about yourself? How did you get into voice acting?
AJ: Just through a series of odd circumstances. I did a bunch of acting at school, but little of it was voice. Back to the Future is really my first big role in V.O.
MW: How did you discover Telltale Games?
AJ: I’ve always been aware of them and their games, but I was made fully aware of them when I heard about Back to the Future.
MW: How did you come about auditioning for the role of Marty?
AJ: I literally just called Telltale and left a message. I knew I did a kick ass Michael J. Fox impression – so I just tried my luck.
MW: What is your favourite Back to the Future film and why?
AJ: The first. It’s simply the best. It hits all the emotional peaks a great movie should.
MW: What was it like stepping into Michael J Fox’s shoes?
AJ: Scary. I have a lot to live up to. And as I’ve said before he really is a hero of mine, so getting to portray him is a huge honor, but also quite intimidating.
MW:Have you played any of Telltale’s games before?
AJ: I’ve got some in my game cue, but haven’t had the time yet. It’s on my list of things to do.
